Flag Raising Ceremony – Van Avery Prep Scouts raise the flag at this annual event kicking off the start of the new school year.

Ropes Course – 8th grade participates in this character building exercise.
Middle School Dance – Grades 6th through 8th participate in this evening event.
Red Ribbon Week – A week dedicated to promoting drug awareness.
Pumpkin Contest – Families decorate their pumpkins for entrance into our annual contest. Followed by classroom Halloween parties.
November
Harvest Festival – A day of fun and games in a festive atmosphere celebrating the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday.
December
Holiday Programs – Each grade puts on an evening musical performance for their families to watch and enjoy.
February
Student Recognition Awards – Each year students are recognized for outstanding performance in a particular subject or category and are presented with an award in front of their parents and piers.
Honor Society Installations – Middle school students with a qualifying GPA and Community Service hours are recognized and inducted into this elite group who further serve their school and community.
March
Dr. Seuss’ Birthday – Students come to school dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
St. Patrick’s Day – Kindergarten through 3rd grade students are on the lookout for those mischievous Leprechauns who seem to reek havoc on their classrooms each year!
April
Science Expo – Science Fair for Grades K – 8th. Students demonstrate science concepts learned in class.
May
8th Grade Camp Ozark – As a graduation trip, interested 8th grade students spend 5 days at Camp Ozark, Mt. Ida, Arkansas where they are exposed to a variety of activities and are learning valuable lessons about life and about themselves.
Annual Art Show – Students K-8th grade submit their original works in various mediums for judging by local artisans.
June
Middle School Daytime Recognition Awards and Sports Banquet - Students are again recognized for outstanding performance in a particular subject and/or sport and are presented with an award. Parents are invited to attend.
Graduation Ceremony - 8th grade students participate in a graduation ceremony.
Graduation Gala – Middle school students attend this evening dance celebrating the graduation of their peers.
